Featuring an unusual square shape with original rolled tin bale handle, all four sides are decorated with vibrantly colored scenes from an assortment of nursery rhymes, including JACK AND JILL and HUMPTY DUMPTY. Bearing the J. CHEIN & CO. MADE IN U.S.A. stamp in crest, sand pail dates to around the 1930s and is in wonderful condition - no dents, holes or damage - very minor rubbing on the edges and a minute amount of paint rubbing on the sides from light use. Interior has several spots of light surface rust - looks like something rested in the bottom for some time to create a small ring - does not detract in the least or go through. As you can see from the photos, this is in really nice condition - so hard to find these little square sand pails - charming addition to any collection and perfect for display!
